And Here It Is!

Remember the photos of this on the light table and how it all began. Well, here it is finished , photographed and delivered to Rue Cou Cou in Baton Rouge. "Rocket Fish", or candles and loaves or whatever. If you look at it long enough, different patterns tend to reveal themselves. Now on to the next piece.

Have a good one!

Where it is now

This is where the design is now, so far these pieces have been epoxied to the clear glass disc. I will probably continue with another row of cool colors, blues, and or blue greens and maybe back to the hot colors. I'm not really sure until I start placing colors next to one another, what will work, and the pieces will change in size and shape. Do you have any suggestions, if so please leave a comment. Open to suggestions.

It All Begins With.....

If you ever wondered, how do my stained glass designs begin, well , here is a sneak peek of a kaleidescope design in progress.
Picture
It all begins with a few small pieces. A big Red center(and a dap of epoxy to hold it inplace), a few small hot colors-reds, oranges and yellows and then a bit of cool colors-blues and greens for contrast.

And then a concentric rhythm begins to form.
I'll keep you posted with more photos as the design continues and a final kaleidescope soon. And my apologies for the photo quality; if I had stopped to hunt down a better camera, I would have forgotten to post this.

ART THAW

Good morning! Another beautiful winter/spring day. One orange giant snapdragon, one dark blue iris, one majenta/pink homestead verbena, one pink aster, one red amaryllis, and many others peeking thru these lovely cold mornings. Ahhh, what wonderful inspiration.
Doug and I attended Mid City Art Thaw last night at RueCouCou in Baton Rouge where my stained . We had a lovely visit with art patrons and artists and of course the folks/representatives of RueCouCou.

Enjoy your day wherever you are.

    A bit about me:

As a child, art supplies were readily available and creativity was encouraged.
And in elementary school thru highschool, I was more concerned with how well my art projects were completed than focusing on the main subjects.

I Studied Fine Arts at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette from 1977-1980, focus on drawing, painting and etching. I married my husband Doug in the beginning of my fourth year, and he was transfered so left to follow my husband and I start a family.

I continued with drawing and painting and crafts and when we settled in Louisiana I began working as an apprentice in a glass studio.

I  worked in 2 separate stained glass studios crafting liturgical glass designs from 1990-2007.

I worked in commercial art production and taught elementary art classes through our Arts Council. I have designed and fabricated my own stained glass and mosaic designs since 1995.

And I currently display my artwork in galleries and gift shops in Louisiana.
